DuPont has introduced a new organic acid purification resin designed to improve efficiency in lactic and citric acid production. The DuPont™ AmberLite™ FPA57 resin targets longer operating cycles and improved stability in industrial purification processes.
Organic acid purification resin designed for improved processing efficiency
The DuPont™ AmberLite™ FPA57 resin is a weak base anion resin developed for organic acid purification. According to DuPont, the resin is engineered to support manufacturers seeking higher throughput while managing operational costs.
Organic acids are widely used across industries including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, personal care and biodegradable plastics.
Supporting purification of lactic and citric acid streams
The organic acid purification resin is designed to remove weak acids, colour bodies and mineral impurities from process streams. These purification steps are essential to maintaining consistent product quality in lactic and citric acid production.
In addition, the resin provides increased operating capacity and longer cycle times. DuPont states this can extend run lengths by approximately five to ten percent, helping to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
Upgrade option for existing purification systems
The new resin is designed as a direct upgrade to DuPont™ AmberLite™ FPA55 resin. It maintains the same particle size and hydraulic characteristics, enabling replacement without changes to system design or operating flow rates.
Its acrylic gel matrix and enhanced exchange capacity are intended to improve physical stability and resistance to fouling during demanding purification operations.
“DuPont™ AmberLite™ FPA57 resin reflects our commitment to advancing the performance and efficiency of organic acid purification, which is critical to the food and beverage market,” said Mingzhou Wang, Global Food and Beverage Market Leader for DuPont Water Solutions.
DuPont develops ion exchange resins, polymeric adsorbents and membrane technologies used across food processing and life sciences manufacturing.
